True vs. False Revivals:
Howling our Way to Heaven

by Chuck Fisher

The '90s have seen some of the worst events in Church history, to put it plain and simple. As a Pentecostal minister, I blush at the antics of such men as Rodney Howard-Brown, Steven Hill, John Kilpatrick and Benny Hinn. The shame and reproach that these men have brought upon the name of Christ is immeasurable. They, like Simon Magus of old, see the Gospel as a means of money and the people of God as their cashcow.

This second Pentecostal Problem Area page deals with Pentecostal Practices. The '90s have seen the rise of two so-called Revival Movements, Toronto and Brownsville, that have Christians travelling to these two cities from all over the world. They come, seeking God's blessing, they roll around on the floor howling, laughing, barking, they do chicken dances, and they go back home claiming that God has changed them. The articles on this page will examine these movements and their leaders, and point the way to true revival.

The Mythology of the Brownsville "Revival"
This article looks at the false histories and lies put out by the leaders of the Brownsville Revival.

What Does Revival Look Like:?
I was asked once, when I voiced my opposition to the manifestations of Toronto and Brownsville, what I thought revival should look like.

One Minister's Reply
How we really know when a revival is a revival, or just faking it. Rafael Martinez hits this one out of the park.
You Might Be In the River of God If...
A funny list that I received via email one day. Too funny to not put up. When the author steps forward, I'll put his.her name on it.
First Love, part I : How We Go Wrong
A sermon I preached to myself as well as my church.
